Timely Access to SUD Assessment

Percent of all Medicaid members who had one or more SUD Treatment Services during the measurement period and a 60-day Negative SUD treatment History prior to the first treatment session (index service), who had a timely SUD Assessment that occurred:

  • Up to 30 days prior to the index SUD treatment service or
  • On the same day as the index SUD treatment service or
  • Within one of the first 3 SUD outpatient treatment sessions that took place during the 30 days following the SUD index treatment service

The SUD assessment can be from the same provider or a different provider.

This measure excludes:

  • Members receiving SUD treatment services during the measurement period from a licensed SUD or mental health provider practicing independently outside of an agency treatment setting
  • Members receiving SUD outpatient treatment services during the measurement period from an opioid treatment program (OTP) as described in He-W 513.02 (q) (7)
  • Members dually enrolled for Medicaid/Medicare during the measurement period
